"The Cutty Sark" by Michael Betts in Perth
"The Cutty Sark"
This Mural was commissioned by a private client in Lancelin with a strong passion for the Cutty Sark, a tall ship from England in the 1890s. I had never painted a mural of this kind before but was inspired by my clients vision and enthusiasm. In fact the whole town got behind this one especially the Cray fishermen who now use it as a landmark from sea!
Meet the Artist
Perth, AustraliaHi, I’m Michael, a mural artist based in Perth, Western Australia. I’ve been painting Murals and Scenic art professionally for over 20 years, including a significant 12-year stint in Hong Kong, where I honed my skills and adapted to diverse artistic demands. My expertise ranges from large-scale commercial murals for top brands, to engaging public art and private murals that transforms spaces. If I had to pick a specialisation it would be Photo realism, but I am open to all styles of murals and can adapt my style and technique instantly to suit the job. I also hold a Masters in fine art and Lecture in Scenic art part-time at ECU, fostering the next generation of artists, who in turn, often join me on my larger projects when they graduate.
