"Guide de Jardinage Ecologique" book illustrations for Ecole de Jardinage Bouregreg by Leila Kutub in Rabat

For Guide de Jardinage Écologique, I had the privilege of illustrating a sustainable gardening guide that blends scientific insight with visual storytelling. Collaborating closely with Carey Duncan, who provided the scientific text, I focused on using my illustrations to bring clarity and accessibility to the content, making ecological gardening principles both informative and engaging. The illustrations focus on accuracy and detail, with a particular emphasis on tools, plants, insects, and other ecosystem elements. I conducted thorough research to ensure the visuals were scientifically accurate while remaining approachable. In addition to the illustrations, I also handwrote captions to complement the visuals and provide further context for readers. The project was led by Yasmina Naji (editorial direction), with coordination by Ines Elexpuru and artistic direction by Abdellah Aissa. Arabic translation was done by Omaima Machkour, and the book is distributed by Les Presses du Réel. This project was deeply fulfilling, allowing me to combine my passion for nature with my illustration work, contributing to a cause I’m passionate about—sustainability and ecological awareness.
