With over 40 years of exhibiting his artwork, I have developed a reputation for supplying unique works of art in a variety of mediums and styles to both the private and corporate sectors including Canadian and Provincial Government Agencies, Museums and Hospitals. My artwork has won numerous awards and has been exhibited at the Local, National and International levels including participating in art exhibitions during the Olympic Games in both the United States and Canada. I exhibited my artistic talents at a very early age. After attending The Alberta College of Art and Design from 1977 to 1980 I pursued a career in the commercial art industry, first working as an illuminated sign designer followed by working as an art director for a magazine company. During this time I also pursued a fine arts career. As my reputation and client list grew with my fine arts paintings, I decided to leave the advertising world to devote myself to fine art painting full time and I haven't looked back since.
Not wanting to be pigeonholed into one particular genre I work in a variety of mediums and styles, steadily exploring and pushing my creative boundaries. My medium of choice was at first watercolor but has expanded to include Acrylics, Oils, Pastels, Charcoal, Graphite, Mixed Media plus miscellaneous 3D materials for Sculptural pieces.
My latest series entitled "Trans4mation", was inspired by a family member's announcement as being transgender. These paintings explore the trials, tribulations and joys of gender identity.
Terry has worked and collaborated together with Architects, Art Consultants, Engineers and Art Committees on several corporate or public art commissions including Canada Post Corporation, Environment Canada, The Royal Tyrrell Museum, The Misericordia Hospital and the Wensley Sporowski Architectural Group. He is also in the collections of The Alberta Foundation For The Arts, The Medicine Hat Museum, The City of Calgary and The Esso & Texaco Art Collections to name only a few. In his spare time Terry loves to cook, travel and write fiction literature, with his manuscript entitled “Boxes” placing in the top ten in the “2014 Clive Cussler Adventure In Writing Competition.”
If not creating in his studio, you'll probably find Terry spending time walking along a beach, cooking, working on his antique car, reading or writing another action packed fiction novel.
