Reviews:

I really wanted to say nice things about Stuart, and the relationship initially was extremely positive. We got to see some mock-ups, a preview of the paintined on an easel and he was easy to work with. Unfortunately after providing 50% payment we have never received the painting commissioned, and have since been ghosted - may have just been a bad time for Stuart, but haven't seen a refund or any communication for over 5 months.

I love jobs or tasks that involve putting genuine thought and passion into the idea. It makes me want to strive for something unique and long-lasting; whether that be through design, illustration/art, or a combination of both

Reviews:

We really enjoyed working with Lachlan; we were vaguely stressed about the process of an artistic commission (our first), but he made everything easy and comfortable. We were impressed by his interpretation of the brief and his explanations of what he would do to produce the final piece. Most importantly, he responded to our thoughts and feedback at every step along the way, as he showed us the works in progress, and we are so happy with the final piece. The best we can say is that we have a piece of art that is very different from our original brief (and "better") and that is down to the conversations we had -- and Lachlan's interpretations, and his explanations of the "how" and "why" of those interpretations. We decided early that we had commissioned Lachlan as an artist to produce a piece of art, rather than producing a stylized version of something else that we liked, and we are so happy that we allowed him to be an artist. We recommend Lachlan highly, if you think his portfolio jells with your ideas. Thank you, Lachlan.

Love painting with oils on canvas, drawing, sketching and fine art and illustration. In terms of size, the smallest acceptable canvas is 30x40cm, the largest is up to 100cmx90cm. I love painting cityscapes and landscapes, portraits and abstracts. I'm very versatile and experienced, having been doing this for quite a while. I will send updates and progress pics but I'm happy for you to set the level of communication required. Above all else, love jobs where I can be imaginative and creative to bring ideas life. I will always provide a free quote before starting work, which details everything included, such as materials, labour, delivery cost &c. In terms of budget: terms are a 20% deposit for the initial design (i.e. the drawing, for example on canvas) and I require the 80% outstanding amount to start painting. I calculate the quote based on cost of materials, labour and BAA's cut + tax, so as a rule of thumb, the larger and more complex the project, the higher the cost and vice versa. When your project is complete you can decide whether to have it delivered or pick it up from my studio. An oil painting can literally last for centuries and it represents the best of us, the finest emotions, experiences, memories and feelings in life; it is a beautiful object to treasure for many years to come. By commissioning local, independent artists like me through Book An Artist, you directly support the artist and a wider community of artists too! Contact me for a free quote.

Reviews:

I am beyond happy with the outcome and the standard of Steve's work. I commissioned Steve to paint a photo of the 2018 Austrian Grand Prix for a birthday present and I cannot emphasise enough how well it turned out. I had never commissioned any art prior to this piece and Steve made the entire process so easy. He was open to feedback and guidance when I provided it (not that he needed much as I was so happy with how he interpretted the brief!) and maintained clear communication about the progress of the piece. Thank you again Steve!

Reviews:

Honestly disheartening experience on this platform. I chose the wrong artist for the project. The references and guidance provided were seemingly misconstrued and my final product doesn’t at all achieve the aesthetic I was hoping for. Virtually unusable product for $440
