Cup Ramen Incantation

An illustration that got me a place in the Samsung Creative Residency this year. Illustrated in Clip Studio Paint, this features a character ripping off the magical seal at the top of a cup of instant noodles and letting the vegetable reagents do their thing. I wanted to experiment with how to portray an abstract idea like capturing the little magic of making some 2 minute noodles.

I'm a Melbourne-based illustrator whose been doing freelance work since 2019. This year I was one of the winners of Samsung's Creative Residency competition that was hosted by Gizmodo, and I've previously been lucky enough to have done some work for Microsoft's online Office portal so maybe you've run into my work before! I love working on illustrations with fun hooks or interesting stories, and I won't be able to stay away if it has some Y2K flair.
