1. “Greetings from Austin” – Austin, Texas

This highly Instagrammed mural adorns the southern exterior wall of Roadhouse Relics, the gallery and studio of Todd Sanders, a renowned artist behind many of Austin’s most iconic neon signs. Visitors flock to this spot to snap photos in front of the mural, which enlivens an otherwise unremarkable street corner in South Austin, an area peppered with bakeries, cafés, and food trucks.

Inspired by a 1940s postcard, the vibrant mural features Austin landmarks such as the Congress Avenue Bridge, The University of Texas Tower, and Barton Springs. It was meticulously restored in 2013, funded by community donations.

2. “William Sidney” – Dallas, Texas

World-renowned artist and designer Tristan Eaton used The Stack (a new modern building) as his expansive 8,500 square foot canvas to create a mural that honours Deep Ellum’s history and future. Tristan’s vision for this powerful mural was inspired by Dallas’ first Black architect, William Sidney Pittman, the vibrant music scene, native fashion icon Jerry Hall, and the Texas armadillo. Executed in Tristan’s iconic collage style, the mural incorporates a rich tapestry of imagery, metaphors, storytelling, and cultural elements.

3. “I Love You” – Dallas, Texas

This lively mural has become one of the city’s most popular Instagram spots, with hundreds of posts using the #iloveyoudeepellum hashtag. To the right of the mural, a heartfelt marriage proposal begins with, “Meagan, you are my best friend and have the most amazing heart!” Whether you’re looking to spread love or capture memories with loved ones, this spot is a must-see during Spring Break.

4. “Spread Love The Austin Way” – Austin, Texas

Similar to the ‘Greetings from Dallas’ mural, the ‘Spread Love the Austin Way’ is another perfect way to update your Instagram with a cool photo. Murals in Texas that have text tend to draw crowds, especially when they relate to the city or the cultural history of the town and surrounding areas. 5. “Tau Ceti” – Austin, Texas

Also known as the “Rainbow Wall”, but its actual name is Tau Ceti by international artist Josef Kristofoletti, but this giant rainbow is now Austin’s tallest public artwork at a whopping 103 feet tall. Expect to see it all over Instagram, because what’s better than a huge rainbow wall?

6. “‘Til Death Do Us Part” – Austin, Texas

Austin has so many great Instagram spots, especially all of the amazing street art you can find around downtown. This smaller mural featuring skulls, roses, and “‘til death do us part” can be found on the East Side of Austin. Love must be in the air amongst the murals in Texas, because we’re finding plenty of spots to take pictures with the people or person you love!

7. “Hi, How Are You?” – Austin, Texas

Painted by musician Daniel Johnston more than 20 years ago, the iconic bug-eyed cartoon bullfrog named Jeremiah the Innocent made his debut on the album cover of Johnston’s 1983 release, “Hi, How Are You: The Unfinished Album.” This commissioned piece has persisted through a change in building ownership and, true to its musical roots, “Hi, How Are You” is the stuff of pop culture — courtesy of a musician by the name of Kurt Cobain.

8. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg – San Antonio, Texas

The local collective of Los Otros Murals and We Are 1906 operates out of their vibrant blue building, 1906 Gallery. This dynamic local art exhibit features a rotating roster of artists who showcase their craft and passion, creating a hub for artistic expression in the community. Among the standout pieces is the RBG mural, a tribute to the life and legacy of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, offering visitors a powerful visual homage to her contributions. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a judge on the U.S. Supreme Court. She was known for fighting for equal rights and women’s rights. She served on the Court from 1993 until her death in 2020 and became an important figure in American law and culture.

9. “Selena” – San Antonio, Texas

San Antonio knows how to celebrate the “Queen of Tejano Music” on the annual Selena day with this mural. Born Selena Quintanilla in 1971, she gained popularity in the 1990s with hits like “Como La Flor” and “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom.” Selena was celebrated for her powerful voice and charismatic stage presence. Tragically, she was murdered in 1995 at the age of 23, but her music and legacy continue to inspire fans worldwide.

10. “Selena” – San Antonio, Texas
