My inspiration comes from loving the Bible and the heart of the book. My personal relationship with my Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, has lead me on this journey of Calligraphy. My preaching and teaching of the word of God birthed out of me what l call Gospel Art. Would you believe l had never heard the word Calligraphy before. At age 5-9yrs. I use to draw constantly, until, one of my siblings started tearing my work, l cried so many times to my Dad, and he would,” stop crying, the more you cry the more they will tear your stuff.” So l got fed up and one day l just stopped drawing, and left the gift alone. Until recently now at the age of 49ers, old. I was homeless for a season during the Covid-19 Lockdown, in 2021. I was homeless because no one will give me shelter in the cities l ran to , because l was female, black and a preacher. I was all alone, and troubled and in my diapers one day the Lord lead me into a craft shop, so l got some paper and pencil, sat on the floor of the room with one mattress l managed to secure, over time and l began to write and draw with text at the same time, it became an avenue for me to take my mind of the homeless and stressful situation l found myself because of the Gospel. It was later that my art work became a target for thieves that l heard a group of people taking about my art work and they called it Calligraphy. So when next l got near a computer, l googled it to find out what all the commotion was all about, then l found out that Calligraphy is an ancient style of art writing used many’s years ago by certain tribes picture art to tell their stories. So here we are today.
