About
Newly arrived to California, I am a professional painter on sabbatical from 15 years as an art teacher to pursue opportunities to further expand my reach. I was raised in Miami and I am of Cuban descent. I create from the colorful warmth of my Miami-Cuban roots. My work captures vibrant botanical and abstract scenes. My use of color is as varied as the subject of my full body of work, from figurative paintings observing scenes in my travels and in every day, to studies of color, line, and organic form. I employ classical principles in contemporary styles with unique application of varied mediums. Drawing on spontaneous creation with intentional placement and saturation, my work is grounded in a focus on color theory and pushing its limits.
