Paul is a multi-disciplinary visual artist based in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand, with a practice spanning painting, outdoor installations, sculpture, and design. He has a particular passion for large-scale murals, which he has been creating since 2020. His approach is architectural, utilizing geometric patterns and clean lines to interact with and manipulate a building's existing angles, creating a dynamic new relationship between the artwork and its environment. His work is a vibrant exploration of pure abstraction, defined by curated colour palettes and subtle optical illusions. Drawing inspiration from '80s pop culture and mid-century modern design, he explores contemporary themes with a sense of lightness. Whether on canvas or a building, his goal is to create striking, joyful works that energise a space and challenge perception.
