Visual Artist | Muralist | Art Instructor
šBased in Calgary, Alberta
Iām a Calgary-based visual artist and art instructor with a Master of Fine Arts from the University of British Columbia (2024) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Alberta University of the Arts (2022). My creative practice centers on female portraiture and the nude figure, drawing from feminist theory and inspired by thinkers like John Berger, Lynda Nead, and Frances Borzello. My work explores the historical construction of the female form through the male gaze, and how it can be reclaimed through a contemporary, empowered lens.
Influenced by artists such as the Guerilla Girls, Judy Chicago, Cindy Sherman, Shona McAndrew, Jenny Saville, and Lucian Freud, I aim to create work that balances critical inquiry with emotional depth and painterly skill. My art navigates themes of objectification, empowerment, religious trauma, and body image, often revisiting classical archetypes like the reclining nude or femme fatale from a female perspective.
Alongside my studio practice, I co-run T & J Murals, a collaborative business specializing in custom interior and exterior murals. Whether you're looking for a bold wall piece, a delicate portrait, or something completely unique, Iām always open to creative challenges. I primarily work in oil painting, but I also create drawings, illustrations, tattoo designs, logos, and more. If you can dream it, Iāll bring it to life.
Letās create something beautiful, powerful, and unforgettable.
