What does the moon taste like? by Ana Hernández in Elche
What does the moon taste like?
This editorial illustration is deeply inspired by "What Does the Moon Taste Like?", one of the first books I encountered in my childhood. It brings to life the whimsical and curious journey of the animals reaching for the moon. The illustration captures the innocence and wonder I felt as a child, blending soft colors and playful elements to evoke a sense of imagination and exploration. Each detail reflects the magic of the story, from the animals’ expressions to the moon itself, which feels just within reach yet still a mystery. This artwork is both a tribute to my childhood and an invitation for others to rediscover the magic of such stories.
I’m an artist with a deep passion for both illustration and painting, merging the traditional and digital worlds to create unique works of art. My journey began with a solid foundation in fine arts, where I honed my skills in drawing, painting, and understanding the classical techniques that continue to inspire my work. After completing my studies in fine arts, I pursued a master's degree in illustration, which opened my eyes to the power of storytelling through visual art.
I love working with both traditional materials—such as oil paints, watercolors, and charcoal—and digital tools, allowing me to explore different textures, layers, and effects. This blend of mediums gives me the freedom to create detailed, vibrant pieces that feel both organic and innovative. My work often reflects a fusion of my fine arts background and the modern techniques I’ve developed, balancing the tactile richness of traditional tools with the limitless possibilities of digital design.
