"Into the void of silence, into the empty space of nothing, the joy of life is unfurled."
- C. S. Lewis.
Presenting my handcrafted calligraphy piece capturing the essence of the Persian word "auo," which translates to
"nothingness" or "the void."
I am an artist and I hold an Associate Degree in Carpet Design and a Bachelor’s Degree in Handicrafts from Iran, and have worked as an independent artist in both Iran and Canada. My work explores memory, identity, and emotion through a modern and minimal lens. I focus on simplicity, not because the ideas are simple, but because I believe emotions can be communicated clearly without unnecessary complexity. I use calligraphy in a way that allows the shape of words to form animal figures, carefully matching meaning and form, and I incorporate pointillism, wood carving, engraving, sculpture, and illumination to add detail and depth, building each piece slowly and intentionally. The works I create reflect both personal experiences and broader human themes. They are designed to evoke feeling, invite reflection, and connect viewers to subtle narratives through clean forms and thoughtful details. My innovative approach transforms words into visual forms and textures, creating work that is both visually striking and emotionally resonant. I have exhibited my work at Art Vancouver, International Art Gallery, Vancouver, and Gostaran Iranshah, Vancouver.
