Venezia
This mural was painted on an 18' canvas in studio and then installed in the restaurant. The client wanted her patrons to "feel" as though they were in Venice. Rather than paint a typical scene and hope for the best, a different approach was taken. A variety of facades were combined to create a fictitious view of the city, creating the point of perspective of being on the banks of a canal. High detail was used to create points of interest for those sitting close to the work while deep tones and blocked compositions were leveraged to reflect the restaurant's dramatic ambiance.
Meet the Artist
San Roque, SpainMy name is Paul and I’m a Canadian artist based in San Roque, Spain. I work across a broad variety of applications and mediums, ranging from large scale mural art to original canvas art, sculpture and even prototype building. I’ve been dedicating my life to art and invention since I graduated from the Ontario College of Art in 1991 and have been fortunate enough to have won commissions in North America, South America and Europe. I enjoy working with my clients and take pride in being able to help them realize whatever they’ve been envisioning.
