Unravel

It was what it was, now it isn’t 🌅 ___________________ Last year, I was working over eighty hours a week, juggling a massive workload with no support, struggling with burnout and battling acute anxiety. That version of myself is unrecognizable now. I was so broken and sad. So contorted out of my natural shape that I didn’t know how to fix my position. I was desperately waiting for someone or something to change my situation because I foolishly believed I didn’t have the strength to do so myself. Here’s the thing though, the life you want has to be created not given or found. Each day we have the option to reinvent ourselves, to move forward towards growth or take a set backward to safety. It’s fucking terrifying to let go of familarity even when that comfort is also confinement. Embrace your fear, unravel and shed the person you are to build the person you want to be. Trust yourself, hold hope tight and focus on the road ahead. Don't be the person questioning “How did I end up here?” instead start asking “How do I get there?” Digital Painting | Procreate | 2023 | A2 Framed (Black, White, Light Wood)
