This large-scale oil self-portrait aims to offer the viewer a glimpse into the artist’s psychological landscape lying just beneath the surface of the skin. The figure's internal world is depicted as an ethereal projection of the subject's face, ghostly and delicate on the verge of dissipating into the background. Through color, texture, and technique, the artist aims to infuse psychological depth through the painting process rather than relying on the subject's emotional or symbolic elements. The familiar portrait with a central composition becomes unfamiliar through experimental techniques, including finger painting with oil and photo editing. The figure is both literally and figuratively exposed, through digital manipulation and the painting process.
