‘Place of Good Abode’ - Margaret Powell Square 2021

Following my mural as part of MK Calling 2020 at MK Gallery, I was commissioned to paint a Memphis inspired mural on the iconic creative junction - Margaret Powell Square. The mural aims to bring the essence of the galley’s current Memphis exhibition outside for the public to interact with and to explore how the placement of shape, colour and pattern can create something unexpected and fun. Using a vibrant 80s pallett, abstract geometric shapes and clashing patterns - ‘Place of Good Abode’ celebrates the innovative and unconventional design characteristics that have come to encompass the Memphis movement in an interactive playscape allowing audiences to immerse themselves in Memphis design in an accessible way.
