Pickled Brain by georgia_artworks in Kelowna

This sculpture was formed around my research about dreams and the human brain. I was deeply inspired by my own dreams and how I seem to dream about the same things over and over again without knowing what any of it means. I found the quote "The mind studying the mind, is like looking in an endless mirror," so I decided to create my brain and "study" it, and store it. The brain is sculpted out of clay, gesso, and sealer. I painted the details in gouache paint and put it in dyed water to make the pickled effect. I would consider this a mixed media, found materials sculpture.
