Phoenix
Phoenix is painted in oil paints on a stretched canvas, and I painted her because I wanted to challenge myself by trying to recreate the light effects I'd seen in a couple of photos. I'm mildly obsessed with bokkeh (the light blobs in the background) as they're a great way to create the impression of depth of field in a painting.

I specialise in oil paintings of people and horses, but also love to use pastels, spray paints, pencils, acrylic markers or various combinations of those. Although I'm currently enjoying painting people, previous work has centred around seascapes, abstracts and wildlife. When I first started out as a professional artist, I focused on pet portraits, so I have experience with many different subjects.
The only thing I don't enjoy painting is buildings - straight lines are not my forte! I avoid such commissions at all costs!
