This community mural embodies a tapestry of visual metaphors, weaving together themes of community healing and peace. At its heart, the artwork symbolizes support and upliftment, showcasing figures lending hands to one another, fostering a sense of unity and solidarity. Central to the mural is a bridge, a powerful symbol of connection and overcoming obstacles. This bridge not only spans physical divides but also represents the journey to navigate through difficult conflicts with skill and resilience. This project spanned two rooms with the young adult lounge adorned with a 14ft tinted glass installation in the form of a colorful peace-signaling hand. Vibrant color bands continue from the welcome center for a seamless transition. This durable solution for adding large scale art without disrupting the original brick walls also casts the most gorgeous colored light onto the floor and walls, shifting with the sun. A beautiful nod to the adjacent room which was once used as a chapel.
