Who looks outside; dreams. Who looks inside; awakes. - Carl Jung
When the world moves too fast and you lose yourself in the chaos, self doubt can consume you. The smallest thing can derail our routine and halt our progress. This is where I’ve been existing these past few weeks. It can be an absolute struggle to get back on our feet when we feel weighed down by our insecurities and self deprecating thoughts. Negativity is a quicksand but the only person who can actually pull you down is yourself.
It’s okay to stop and rest, to breathe and evaluate. Return to a state of simplicity and focus on yourself. Do things that make you happy. Forget about the need to be productive. Put aside projects and recharge your battery.
Have a drink at noon. Have two. Go to a museum, go for a walk, go somewhere you’ve never been. Watch a movie. Watch a series. Read a book. Listen to a podcast. Speak to a stranger. Check in with a friend. Check in with yourself.
Work can and will always wait. The practice of self care and self love is important to our overall happiness but also to our productivity and the quality of work we generate. White knuckling, withdrawing, burning-out does no one any favors. When you feel your battery running low or your internal voice turning negative, prioritize time to rest, enjoy life and reconnect with yourself 🌷🧠💗

Art
_______________________
I create bold and vibrant illustrations seeped in positivity with a mild dose of surrealism and maximalism.
Last year, I left my job in interior design to rediscover my passion for art and become an independent creative. My work is strongly influence by this transition and explores my emotion states of navigating a new life path. I playfully address themes of mental health, anxiety, transformation, and growth. My art aims to be relatable, vulnerable, honest and upbeat. With imagery, I expose my inner voice and insecurities to encourage self care, connection and authenticity in others.
