Hodag Mural by Lila in Rhinelander

This mural was painted for Hodag Den Boxing Gym in Rhinelander, Wisconsin using acrylic paint. I chose to paint the Hodag, which is a legendary Northwoods creature and a huge symbol of Rhinelander. It represents strength, toughness, and that wild, gritty energy that fits perfectly with a boxing gym. I wanted this piece to feel powerful and motivating — something that hits you when you walk in and sets the tone for training. The goal was to create a mural that not only looks cool, but also connects to the local culture and gives the space its own identity.
