This painting is based on a photograph that I took of a late August sunset in Kennebunkport, Maine. I love how quickly the colors of the sky change as the sun gets lower and lower. Usually the end of summer sunsets are the most dramatic.

Meet the Artist
Chicago, United StatesKit studied painting, drawing, and sculpture at Maine College of Art, Studio Art Centers International Florence, and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She ultimately earned degrees in Art History but continued to create art throughout her life.
Kit paints from photographs and her favorite subject matters are marshes, beaches, rocky coasts, and sunsets.
As a painter, Kit is known for building up layers of vibrant colors. Her primary medium is acrylic on canvas.
